CIL Holiday Celebration

How CIL celebrated the holidays socially distanced

This year’s annual CIL Holiday Party looked a little different, but was just as special as always. The two-part event allowed for social distancing while still maintaining the holiday spirit.

On December 15, team members attended a drive thru event. They were still able to catch up with teammates working the event, enjoy hot chocolate, and pick up their gift bag. The bags included a gingerbread house kit (which comes in handy later!), CIL branded masks, and a treat from Disheveled Diva, a Hartford bakery which donates a portion of their profits to local non-profits.

A few days later on December 17, the team gathered again, this time on Zoom. This portion of the party featured a holiday-themed Jeopardy game, a cookie decorating speed competition, and voting for Best Gingerbread House, which teammates decorated beforehand using the kits from their gift bags. There is clearly some talented decorators on the CIL team, who decorated their houses with everything from accessible wheelchair ramps to turning the whole house into a bee hive.

Despite the challenges of this year, the CIL team is grateful to have been able to celebrate the holidays together. We wish you and your families a Happy Holidays and a happy, healthy, New Year.
