[Tools & Resources]
Each July, we celebrate Disability Pride Month, recognizing the history, achievements, and rights of people with disabilities, while also marking the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. At CIL, it allows us to reflect on the idea that access and inclusion are created through thoughtful decisions, strong advocacy, and intentional design. It's something we see every day.
When developing homes for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), accessibility is a priority - never an afterthought. We believe that good design removes barriers, creates opportunities, and gives people the freedom to focus on what matters.
We're proud to help create homes where accessibility is part of the blueprint from the beginning.
Designing for Accessibility
Disability Pride Month is a celebration of rights, inclusion, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live with dignity and independence.
Thoughtful design helps make that possible.
For individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), thoughtful design can make everyday life more important.
At CIL, our goal to help develop homes that work for the people living there—supporting greater independence, confidence, and everyday living.

Roll-in showers. Grab bars. Handheld shower heads. Thoughtful layouts can improve safety while making everyday routines easier and more comfortable. |

Disability Pride Month helps us reflect on a lot of different aspects of the journey for people with disabilities.
One thing that’s always on our mind: accessibility belongs in the blueprint.
Happy Disability Pride Month.
