Jim believes the strongest communities are built through meaningful relationships, shared purpose, and a commitment to helping people thrive.
As Senior Business Developer at CIL, Jim focuses on cultivating partnerships that lead to impactful housing opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, mental health needs, and those in recovery. With more than 35 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and development, he brings a deep understanding of community-based services and a passion for helping individuals find homes that support independence, dignity, and choice. Jim works closely with nonprofit providers to identify opportunities that align with CIL’s mission and create positive outcomes for the people they serve.
Throughout his career, Jim has played a leadership role in several nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations. Most recently, he helped form Productive Pittsburgh, which supports individuals experiencing homelessness and those in recovery, as well as Our Own Home, an organization serving people living with IDD. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Communications from Allegheny College and a Master of Science in Community Mental Health from Trinity College of Vermont.
Known for his outgoing and positive personality, Jim values teamwork, integrity, and respectful transparency as the foundation for success. Outside of work, he proudly supports his hometown Pittsburgh sports teams and enjoys building relationships that often grow into lasting friendships.
